Built from the inside out
I've spent 15+ years inside financial crime compliance. First advising banks, then building and running the programmes myself at some of the fastest-scaling companies in fintech.
I started in consulting at Deloitte, KPMG and PA Consulting, leading financial crime programmes for Standard Chartered, Santander, Mizuho, Nordea and Lloyds. Then I went in-house: Meta's Libra/Novi project, Deputy MLRO at Stripe, Regional Head of CDD & KYC for APAC at Adyen, and Global Head of Compliance Operations at OKX, where I led 300+ people across six countries.
I started North Star Advisory Group because I kept seeing the same pattern from both sides of the table: regulated businesses paying big-firm prices for junior teams and a slide deck, when what they actually needed was someone who had sat in the MLRO seat, faced the regulator, and run these operations at scale. I wanted to give them direct access to that experience, without the overheads and the hand-offs. So that's what North Star is: senior financial crime advice, delivered personally by me, on every engagement.
